Executive Director
Gladys Okine is the Executive Director of First Work: Ontario’s Youth Employment Network. Ms. Okine specializes in developing solutions for marginalized youth, women, and newcomers. She has over 18 years of experience in successfully advancing employment and workforce development initiatives for youth, newcomers, people with disabilities and women in Ontario. In particular, she has contributed to the improvement of employment and community development programs for YMCA of Greater Toronto, WoodGreen Community Services, George Brown College and Toronto Community Housing now First Work. Gladys Okine has worked in the charitable and non-profit sector since graduating from the University of Toronto in 2001 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and recently completed her MBA in 2017.  Her current initiatives include Amplify: Ontario's Employment Sector Leadership Summit, Aspire: Career Exploration Opportunities for youth and the Council for Youth Prosperity.
